Fireworks with the Phil — Segra Park
Fireworks with the Phil returns to Segra Park on June 27 for its sixth year, featuring an extended fireworks show coinciding with a performance of "The 1812 Overture." Gates open at 6:30 p.m., concert begins around 8:15 p.m. A kids zone is available up until the show begins.

From sunrise fun runs to twin fireworks over Lake Murray — the Midlands goes all out for the 250th anniversary of American independence.

7:04 a.m. — Born in the USA Four Miler
Kick off Independence Day morning with a fun run. Choose from a 4-mile race, 4-mile 2-person relay, or the Firecracker Youth Run for kids. Best 4th of July costume wins an award. Proceeds support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society and Strictly Running's Youth Cross Country Summer Camp.

8:00 a.m. — Independence Day Fun Flat Fifty Bike Ride
A self-supported bike ride with 31-mile and 47-mile routes through lower Richland County, hosted by Tri-City Cyclers. The 30-miler stops at Congaree National Park and GMART. Helmets required.

9 a.m.–11 p.m. — Lexington County Peach Festival
A one-day family festival in Gilbert with live entertainment, fresh peach treats, arts and crafts, the Peach Parade, beauty pageants, and fireworks capping the night around 9:15 p.m.

4:00 p.m. — Fort Jackson Independence Day Celebration
Fort Jackson's free, public event at Hilton Field includes local bands, food trucks, a kid zone with amusement rides, and a fireworks display. Everyone 16+ needs a valid government-issued ID. Use Gate 4 on Boyden Arbor Road.

6:00 p.m. — Town of Lexington Independence Day Celebration
Join the Town of Lexington at Icehouse Amphitheater for a free celebration. The 246th Army Band performs starting at 7 p.m., followed by fireworks around 9:20 p.m. Beer, wine, and food available for purchase. Tune to 93.1 FM The Lake for patriotic music during the show. Best viewing: Amphitheater, Main Street restaurants, Lexington Square Park, and Lexington Veterans Monument.

The Blowfish split into two teams — the Blowfish and the Glowfish — for a 7-inning, star-spangled showdown capped off with a huge Independence Day fireworks display.

Evening — Lake Murray Independence Day Celebration
One of the Midlands' signature traditions returns with two synchronized fireworks displays launched from Spence and Dreher Islands — carrying added significance as communities mark the 250th anniversary of American independence. Best spot: on the lake by boat. Land viewing at Dreher Island State Park (3677 State Park Road, Prosperity). Entry: $6 adults, $3.75 SC seniors, $3.50 ages 6–15. Rain date: Sunday, July 5, 2026.

7:00 p.m. — Laser Light Show — Irmo Community Park
A free laser light show at the Prisma Health Amphitheatre in Moore Park. Complimentary hot dogs while supplies last, Kona Ice on-site. Bring chairs and coolers. No tickets required. Laser show starts ~9:30 p.m.

Boats are the move. If you don't have one, get to Dreher Island State Park early — spots fill up fast for the twin synchronized displays from Spence and Dreher Islands.

Bring your government-issued ID and your lawn chairs. The event is free but lines get long — plan to arrive right when gates open at 4 p.m. Use Gate 4 on Boyden Arbor Road.
